Returning to reality after vacation is hard. After a week of fun and rest, it is hard to get my mind back in “the game”.
I want to use this as a “reset” and have a fresh perspective on all the things. Some of the things have a lot of weight that bog me down. Some of the other things do not have enough significance and need to be brought to the forefront of my life.
I am taking these things to the Lord and asking for His help in setting these in proper order. Truth is, I am not in control of any of them, anyway. He is the only one who can orchestrate my life and put it all in proper order.
He can take the things that are heavy and make them light when I turn them over to Him. He can remind me of the things that are extremely important and have taken a back seat. With His direction, I can bring them back to their proper place in my life.
One of those things is my time with Him. I would never leave my home without proper clothing and making sure my hair and makeup are presentable! Why, then, would I consider leaving my home every morning without making sure I am spiritually clothed to face the day and attacks of the enemy.
I am convinced that building a healthy and joyful relationship with the Lord begins with starting my day in His presence through His Word and prayer. This helps me to maintain perspective and a mindset that He is Lord of my life and to submit to Him as I walk through my day.
How do you begin your day? Can you carve out a few minutes each morning to focus on your relationship with Christ? Try it for 15 days and see if you can form this as a new habit. He wants to have a relationship with you, too. He is faithful and true. He has proven Himself.
